In this post though, we are going to talk about types of potatoes and delicious gluten free potato recipes! There are so many types of potatoes: sweet potatoes, russet potatoes, red potatoes, yellow potatoes, yukon gold potatoes, and you can make a main dish out of potatoes or the best side dishes. Potatoes are always a key part of our holiday dinner and different potato recipes usually are part of our holiday table.

You can make pasta from potatoes, potato salad, potato skins, au gratin potatoes, and never get bored. They are always a crowd pleaser, and the best thing is that you don’t only have to serve that at special occasions. Potatoes usually require minimal prep and the less meal prep there is, the better!
🥣 Equipment to have on hand for gluten free potato recipes:
Good news, you do not need much!
Large Mixing Bowl: If you like to mix your potatoes by hand this is the way to go along with using a masher
Food Processor or Electric Mixer: If you want to make lump free mashed potatoes that are silky smooth, I always suggest using one or the other
Aluminum foil: If you are going to bake your potatoes or reheat them for a holiday meal, it can be handy to have aluminum foil to cover them
Casserole Dish or baking dish: if you are making something like gluten free scalloped potatoes
Air fryer: If you want to make something like homemade french fries or potato wedges without frying them, then this is a good option
Airtight container: For storing our potatoes after they are cooked!
📃 Good ingredients to have on hand for gluten free potato recipes:
Delicious potatoes: Butter potatoes are my favorite but really, any kind of potato will do
Heavy Cream: you can use heavy whipping cream or milk (or a dairy free alternative) but if you are looking to make creamy mashed potatoes or creamy potatoes in general, then it is good to have this- you can also sub in sour cream
Butter: melted butter (or vegan butter) is a staple in most potato recipes
Cheese: If you want to make a cheesy potato then sharp cheddar cheese is good, along with gruyere cheese
Herbs and spices: Garlic powder, garlic cloves, green onions, chives,
