Ingredients for brown sugar honey glazed carrots:
Large Carrots: I like to use full size carrots in this but you could use baby carrots if you wish. The type of carrots does not really matter but I like a full size one (the cooking time is for full size)
Dark Brown Sugar: This is part of the sweetness of our glaze. It pairs beautifully with the natural sweetness of the carrots.
Honey: Honey is another part of our glaze
Garlic: I like to put garlic in this. The minced garlic helps enhance the flavor
Butter: Adds to the richness of the glaze
Ras El Hanout: this is such a warming spice, it is a great addition to your carrots
How do you make these brown sugar honey glazed carrots?
Cut the carrots: and set aside
Meanwhile melt the butter: I like to brown the butter first. Once it is melted add the carrots and the minced garlic.
Add the sugar and honey: along with the ras el hanout. The glaze is going to start to thicken and it is going to look like it is weird at points but it is fine and just go with it.
Sauté the carrots: for around 15-20 minutes in this glaze on a medium heat. The carrots will soften over the course of the cook time.
*if you do not have honey and want a substitute for this sweet glaze, you can use maple syrup.
