For my 29th birthday, I got to go to Potterworld. It was arguably one of the best experiences I have ever had. My friend Tara and I were eager to get in as quickly as we could, fetch our wands, tour around, and try all of the famous foods that were available to us. Of course, the number one choice for most is Butterbeer. It was this day, however, that I became a fan of pumpkin juice. Harry Potter pumpkin juice to be exact. It was sweet, cold, and delicious on a March day which made me think, “you know what, this would be perfect all year round”. So, for our Very Potter Summer, I give you Harry Potter Pumpkin Juice.
What will you need?
Amazingly, not much! I did research, as Ravenclaws do. Potterworld actually sells their pumpkin juice in the cutest four pack. They have the ingredients listed on the back. So, after analyzing what they put in theirs, I got to it and here we go:
- 1 cup of pumpkin puree
- 3/4 cup simple syrup (ingredients to follow)
- 24 oz apricot juice (get one that is mixed with apple)
- Water- if you feel it is too sweet and you want to water it down a bit.
Simple Syrup:
- 1 cup water
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 tsp vanilla
- 1 tbsp cinnamon
How do you make your
Harry Potter Pumpkin Juice?
To get started, you are going to want to make your simple syrup:
- Place your water in a small pot, along with your sugar, vanilla, and cinnamon.
- allow the mixture to simmer and stir until the sugar dissolves. It is going to smell like Fall and taste amazing.
- While that is finishing up (it really shouldn’t take more than 5-10 minutes on a medium high), in a pitcher take your pumpkin puree and apricot juice.
- Once your syrup is ready, add it into your pitcher and begin to mix! There should be no chunks of pumpkin. It will become smooth the more you stir.
- Place in the fridge and allow to chill.
- Once it is cold enough, add some ice cubes, and serve!

Why should you make this?
Potter fans will know that this is a very common beverage in the books. It is first mentioned in Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets after Harry and Ron have flown the stolen car to Hogwarts. See the photo above for the exact description!
It is a super refreshing drink and honestly, just the most beautiful color and flavor. A fun drink that you can treat you guests and kids with. I promise that once you make it, you’ll be going back to make more!
Always,
L
